We are currently seeking a Risk Analyst to join our Risk Department in our Atlanta, GA office. The Risk Analyst supports the planning and implementation of risk management initiatives across Batson-Cook. This role assists in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks on all construction projects by overseeing key components of the company’s insurance program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee Batson-Cook’s corporate insurance program and project-specific policies. Covering placement, endorsements, renewals, and collaborating with brokers and carriers to ensure alignment.
• Administer Batson-Cook’s Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) by partnering closely with Operations teams. Responsibilities include managing Trade Partner enrollment, coordinating with brokers, maintaining program reports, supporting audit activities, and negotiating insurance coverages and premiums.
• Coordinate with surety providers to secure bonds, maintain compliance with contractual requirements, and monitor project completions to confirm timely renewals or releases.
• In partnership with our Insurance Coordinator investigate and manage construction-related claims, including, but not limited to property damage, general liability, builder’s risk, and workers’ compensation.
• Partner with team members to deliver status reports and analyze risk trends for leadership.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for insurance costs and claims reserves.
• Proactively develop and implement strategies to mitigate safety, financial, legal, and environmental risks.
• Make site visits when necessary.
Essential Skills:
• Ability to analyze complex situations, identify potential risks, and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide cross section of individuals.
• Familiar with construction processes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Proficient in risk assessment methodologies and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze and interpret insurance documents and contracts.
• Familiar with Windows based applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission, and values.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in insurance, risk management, construction, or related industry.
• A bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, construction management, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
• Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS)).
